Notice to the Membership 520 Moose Lodge:

“Growing to Serve” is this year’s membership campaign; and Scott Hart is making a promise to the membership that growing has beneficial results. Achieving these goals should be our motion too. Remember, what we mean to the community. We have a new challenge; not just serving the community; but maintaining our facilities so we have a lodge we can be proud of.

With the kitchen project done; the flooring in the hall being patched; the next major project is results of the hail storm in April. We will need to replace the roof at a substantial cost to the lodge. We have a large deductible with the cost of replacement around $120K to $140K out of pocket expense. There will be multiple bids on the project and the best option will be considered. We are looking at ways to rise funds for the project; but none are something we had planned for. So; your support will be appreciated at Tenderloin nites, burger nites and other fundraising efforts we are exploring to help. We had a membership meeting; and it was moved and approved by the membership to secure a loan to cover the expenses. Details on length and interest rates will be post for members to see.

Frank Vorhees, Director of Membership, reminds us that Growing to Serve is who we are, why we serve and the legacy of the Moose. One member, one lodge and one community at a time. We want to thank Charlie and Sue Clatt who have agreed to be our representatives at the 2026 Intnernational Moose Convention in Oklahoma City the end of June. With their attendance it gives our lodge a national presence and help maintain our Superior Lodge Rating; as well as giving us an opportunity to apply for grants from Moose International. Thank them when you see them. John Reiter, Chairman of the Board, said “People have ideas, and they work together to see them to completion. Then when they step back and see the success they have achieved, it generates a sense of wanting to do this again, and to do it together.” Here is our challenge we have to work with. To make our facility a better place for members, community and the people we serve.

Two fundraisers coming up our the Heart of Community will be June’s Tenderloin nite for the Gilbert Clay Commandors club and July’s will be a fundraiser for the Gilbert Fire and Rescue. Come out and support those worthy causes. Again thank you for supporting the Moose Lodge.
